Plant a Row for the Hungry is a national program that encourages local gardeners to fight hunger in their communities.  Locally, we can take part by growing and donating part of our harvest each year to the Community Resource Center Food Pantry.

Simply decide to grow a little more and donate that produce to the CRC.  Volunteers can also make arrangements to glean produce from farmers’ fields and orchards after the harvest. This food, instead of being left behind to rot, can be distributed to those in need via the CRC.

Freshly picked vegetables, fruits and herbs delivered to the CRC Food Pantry should be free of soil and imperfections such as major blemishes and exterior wilted leaves.  Lettuce can be cleaned and put in plastic bags.  Tomatoes, cucumbers, other vegetables and fruits should be washed and dried and delivered in boxes.

Please call ahead when donating perishable food so that we can plan accordingly
