Dear Manchester Area Friends,
The Community Resource Center’s 24th Benefit and Volunteer Recognition
Banquet will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011. As in the past, the
event will be hosted by the Chelsea Community Hospital. This year’s
title is “This is Our Lucky Day” and promises to be a fun evening filled
with lucky surprises, a few tricks, a delicious dinner, open bar, live
music (dance if you like), and a silent auction that includes a Florida
vacation. Best of all, it is our opportunity to, as a community,
recognize many of the volunteers that make the Manchester area such a
vibrant place in which to live.
Your organization can show its pride in and gratitude to your volunteer
corps by recognizing one (or more) persons at this event. Over the past
23 years, nearly 270 individuals have received honors for their
dedication to improve the quality of life in our area. Twenty-one of
those honored have received the prestigious Claire Reck Volunteer
Service Award. Nominating valued volunteers from your organization not
only shows your appreciation, it also highlights them and your
organization to the community for its outstanding service.
To nominate your volunteer(s), please complete and return the attached
form to the CRC by Friday, October 14, 2011. Instructions and FAQs are
included on the form. You may recognize past recipients a second time if
you wish. If your organization has never honored a volunteer before, now
is the time to show the community and individual(s) your appreciation.
Most of our organizations would not exist without our talented,
dedicated members.
What you also need to know:
1. Your organization should plan to purchase event ticket(s) for your
volunteer(s) and for at least one member of your organization to
accompany him/her. The cost is $45/ticket. Some organizations also
include the nominee’s spouse.
2. You are encouraged to fill a table of 6 to show your appreciation.
Your table will be reserved with a highly visible sign to show everyone
you care about volunteerism in the Manchester area.
3. Enclosed are the dinner choices which must be provided for the
persons your organization is paying for, preferably at the time you make
your nomination.
Please be aware that all monies raised at this event go to support the
CRC’s mission of providing food and other types of assistance to those
in need, helping the unemployed or underemployed in their job search,
and assisting Manchester area organizations with volunteers for events
and projects. We also promote the importance of volunteerism to the
youth of the community.
