<p><strong>Join the free </strong>Healthy Communities Walking Program and Get Up! Get Walking! Get Healthy!</p>
<p>The participants of the Walking Program are walking their way to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  The program is designed to give  rewards as participants make a virtual trek to the Bridge and beyond.</p>
<p>Those who sign on, keep track of their own progress in the Walking Program’s Personal Walking Journal and Log, and meet with the Community Point Person at least 3 times and attend a group walk if  able to do so.  When the program is completed , an individual will have walked almost far enough to reach Sault Ste. Marie.</p>
<p>The Healthy Communities Walking Program is designed to motivate and support people who want to get moving toward better health.</p>
<p>By getting one to walk at least three times per week, the  goal is to reduce the likelihood that of developing a preventable chronic disease.</p>
<p>It helps fulfill personal goals  to feel better about one&#8217;s health and to have more energy.</p>

In addition, this service may help eligible people take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit.  Anyone who earned $48,279 or less from wages, self-employment or farming in 2009 should check to see if they qualify.  A return of up to $5600 is possible for those who qualify.  This event is an effort by the Washtenaw Asset Building Coalition and Washtenaw Co. ETCS &amp; Michigan Works!</p>
