Food Pantry
The Community Resource Center operates a food pantry available to residents of the Manchester Community Schools District. Individuals and families in need can obtain food items from our in-house pantry.
There are hungry people working at their jobs daily, children going to school hungry, and senior citizens who are struggling to keep food on their tables right here in our own community. Here are a few ways YOU can make a difference:
DONATE FOOD and ITEMS
Donated food items can be dropped off during open hours. Since the food pantry is organized by volunteers, it is best to call and check what hours it is open.
We want to expand our offerings in the coming year:
- Non-perishable food items
- Vouchers for perishable food items
- Personal hygiene items (i.e. toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine supplies, deodorant, soap)
- Paper products (i.e. tissues, paper towels, toilet paper)
- Household and cleaning items (i.e. detergent, dish soap, cleaners)
- Pet items (i.e. small bags of dog and cat foods)
- Food items for special needs diets (i.e. vegetarian, low sodium, low fat, low sugar)
- More whole grain food items
DONATE MONEY
The CRC Food Pantry has many needs which are not listed here. If you have any ideas or special ways to assist us, please contact us at 734-428-7722.
The food pantry can be accessed through our east door off Wolverine Street, and is adjacent the CRC office.
